Description

The Faddas Poison Tail chilli is a modern Capsicum chinense super-hot variety created through selective breeding by the breeder known as “Faddas Peppers.”

It’s best known for its extreme heat, unusual “tail” shape, and unstable colour variations across generations.

Origin & genetics

It was developed from a cross involving:

Jay’s Peach Ghost Scorpion

Carolina Reaper

SRTSL (a super-hot lineage)

This makes it part of the same ultra-hot group as ghost peppers and reapers.

Heat level

Classed as a super-hot chilli (C. chinense)

Likely well over 1 million SHU, comparable to Carolina Reaper–level heat depending on phenotype

Intense capsaicin concentration, especially in the placenta (the internal “core” of the pod)

Appearance

Long, pointed “tail” or stinger at the end of the pod

Ripens from green  to red, though other colour variants exist in later generations

Reported phenotype s include red, white, orange, and even pink lines as the strain stabilised

Plant characteristics

Tall, vigorous plants (often up to ~1.8 m)

Very productive under good conditions

Strong branching with heavy pod set

Requires warm, long growing seasons like other super-hots

Flavour profile

Fruity, typical of ghost/reaper-type chinense peppers

Initial sweetness followed by delayed, explosive heat build-up

Heat tends to be very lingering rather than sharp and fast

Summary

The Faddas Poison Tail is essentially a highly unstable but extremely hot “designer super-chilli”, combining ghost pepper and reaper genetics with a distinctive tail shape and multiple evolving colour variants.
