Jay’s Pink Peach chilli is a superhot Capsicum chinense hybrid known for its striking appearance and intense heat, typically sitting around 1,000,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), placing it firmly in the superhot category.
It’s part of a broader family of “Jay’s” crosses (developed from Jay Weaver’s breeding work in Pennsylvania), and is generally believed to involve Pink Tiger–type genetics crossed with other superhot lines such as Reaper or Ghost/Scorpion relatives, which is why it can be quite variable in shape and colour from plant to plant.
The pods usually have a distinct pink-to-peach ripening colour, often with a slightly translucent, glowing appearance. They can be wrinkled, elongated, or slightly stinger-tipped, depending on the exact phenotype. Some plants even show dark purple or near-black foliage, which makes them especially ornamental.
In terms of flavour, it’s not just pure heat: growers often describe it as fruity, floral, and slightly sweet at first, followed by a delayed but intense, mouth-burning heat typical of ghost and scorpion ancestry.
