Description

The Bismarck Red is a striking superhot chilli developed by Italian grower Rocco Maltesi by crossing Skunk Red with M.A. Wartyx. It belongs to the species Capsicum chinense and is known for its intimidating appearance, exceptional productivity, and extreme heat

Pod Description

Large, heavily wrinkled and bumpy pods with a rugged, “monster” appearance.

Often develops a pronounced scorpion-like tail.

Ripens from green to a deep, glossy red.

Thick-walled fruit with a gnarly, warty texture that makes it instantly recognisable among superhots.

Heat

Falls firmly into the superhot category.

The burn is often described as being comparable to peppers such as the Carolina Reaper, Trinidad Scorpion, and other modern extreme cultivars.

Delivers a rapid, intense heat that lingers for a considerable time.

Flavour

Before the heat takes over, the Bismarck Red offers:

Sweet, fruity notes

Tropical undertones

Slight smoky nuances

A rich Capsicum chinense aroma typical of elite superhots.

Plant Characteristics

Plants can reach around 1 metre (3–4 feet) in height.

Very productive, setting large numbers of pods throughout the season.

Performs best in warm, sunny conditions with a long growing season.

In summary: the Bismarck Red is a large, red, heavily textured superhot chilli with a scorpion-style tail, excellent productivity, fruity flavour, and heat levels that challenge the world’s hottest peppers. It is prized by chilli enthusiasts for both its appearance and its fierce burn.
