The pods typically start off light green and ripen to a creamy white or pale yellow-white shade rather than the deep reds or oranges seen in most superhots. They are often slightly wrinkled, with a lantern or scorpion-like shape and a pointed “sting” tail.

In terms of heat, it sits in the extreme range—often estimated well above 1 million Scoville Heat Units, depending on growing conditions. The burn is intense and fast-building: it hits the front of the mouth first, then spreads to the throat and can linger for a long time. Like other Moruga-type peppers, it combines that heat with a fruity, slightly floral undertone, though the flavour is usually subtle and quickly overwhelmed by capsaicin.

Plants tend to be fairly productive in warm climates, producing medium-sized pods on compact bushes. As with most super-hots, it thrives in long, hot growing seasons and requires patience—pods can take 90+ days from flowering to full maturity.

Overall, the White Moruga stands out less for flavour complexity and more for its unusual pale coloration combined with extreme heat, making it popular among chilli collectors and super-hot enthusiasts.

White Moruga chilli is an extremely rare “superhot” chilli cultivar from the Capsicum chinense family, closely related to other Caribbean super-hots like the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion. Despite its pale, almost ivory-white appearance, it belongs to the same heat class as some of the world’s hottest peppers.
