MA Warthog

Description

The MA Warthog is a rare and visually striking superhot chilli, believed to be a selection descended from the 7 Pot family. It is prized for its rugged appearance, intense heat, and rich flavour.

 

Appearance

Pods are medium to large, typically 5–8 cm long.

The surface is heavily wrinkled, folded, and covered in deep dimples and bumps, giving it a rough, “warthog-like” appearance.

Many pods develop a pronounced pointed tail, although tail shape can vary.

They ripen from green to a vibrant red.

The thick, gnarly walls contribute to their distinctive texture.

 

Heat

Falls firmly within the superhot category.

Heat is commonly estimated at well over 1 million Scoville Heat Units (SHU), comparable to some of the hottest 7 Pot varieties.

The burn starts quickly and spreads across the tongue, throat, and lips, building to an intense, long-lasting heat.

 

Flavour

Strong fruity and floral notes typical of many Capsicum chinense peppers.

Slightly sweet with hints of citrus and tropical fruit beneath the heat.

Earthy undertones become noticeable when used in sauces or powders.
